This exhibition is to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Mississauga Potters’ Guild and to provide an opportunity for Guild members to showcase their work. This juried exhibition is intended to share the best examples of our ideas, techniques and skills and to honour our longevity and growing connection to the cultural framework in Mississauga over the past 40 years.

The theme of the exhibition is SANGUINE, a synonym for the ‘ruby’, the traditional gemstone for 40th anniversary celebrations.  Sanguine not only refers to red iron oxide, a chemical used in glazes, but as an adjective it means optimistic, buoyant and spirited which reflects our guild’s focus and passion. The exhibition title reflects our momentum over the past 40 years and our enthusiastic vision for the future. Artists will explore materials, processes and techniques to visually express their personal narrative, observations and experiences within this thematic framework.

We invite past, present and new members to join us, as we celebrate the legacy of the Guild that we have collectively helped to build. This call is open to all ceramic artists and students of ceramics wishing to exhibit their work. We are looking for a variety of works including wall mounted and floor installations.
