An Invitation to Share your Artwork

with a Whole New Audience!

CreativeHub 1352 is inviting artisans to participate in an Artisan Market. This new market is designed to be unique and complement our highly successful Sunday Lakeview Farmers’ Market. The Lakeview Farmers’ Market features 25-30 vendors offering locally grown, sustainable, organic and artisanal food products. During the 2020 season we had on average 1000 marketgoers!

The Artisan Market will be held on the beautiful front lawn of the historical Small Arms Inspection Building site adjacent to the Lakeview Farmers’ Market in a highly visible area at Dixie Road and Lakeshore Road. The surrounding area provides acres of greenspace, parks, biking and walking trails adjacent to Lake Ontario.

What We Are Looking For:

The Artisan Market Team will consider 15 artisan vendors with original works ranging from handmade gardening, ecofriendly/environmental or culinary items in wood, clay, metal, wire, glass, mosaic, cast stone, concrete, fibre, fabric, or wicker to name just a few possibilities.

Items will be considered hand-crafted

and eligible for consideration if:

  • They are the original ideas of the artisan;
  • They are hand-crafted by the artisan (shaping, forming, application and finishing);
  • Commercial parts/materials are used only if subordinate to the total production of the item.
  • They can be functional or non-functional items related to one of the three themes: gardening, eco-friendly/environmental or culinary.

Products that will not be considered

for inclusion include:

  • Food-based products that would be featured and best suited in the Farmers’ Market area.
  • Commercial, mass-produced or manufactured items available on-line or at retail locations;
  • Commercially produced kits or goods made from kits.

Sunday Dates:

July 25, August 15, August 29, September 12, September 26

10am - 2pm

Fortunately, we’ve been so busy at MAC that the weeks are jammed and we have lots to do. One big thing underway is the development of the artists’ online hub, where many of you will have the chance to be seen and heard this spring. It’s an essential ingredient of MAC’s evolved strategy, becoming an arts service agency for professional creatives.

Being seen and heard from, is at the core of what so many creatives are all about and to lose that for a year plus, is more than hard. So a sunny day, and better COVID-19 numbers are good signs and we enjoy their promise. In the meantime, preparing to go for it, dig in, learn more, create more and get better is our mantra. Because our time is coming back and we want to be ready for the new reality we will see in months.

Right now, please take advantage of the experiences, the learnings, celebrations we have on deck and make more of your creative selves.

Culture Days 2021 is RE:IMAGINEd
New year, same Culture Days energy. The arts emerged as a lifeline of joy, hope, and reprieve needed to make it through this past year. Collectively, we’re imagining what a post-pandemic world could look like and how we can each contribute to that picture being brighter. Through that lens, Culture Days has chosen RE:IMAGINE as the very apt 2021 theme. The annual celebration of arts, culture and a life enriched by both will again roll out as a 4-week celebration across Canada from September 24 through October 24, 2021RE:IMAGINE signals a positive turning point—the commitment to building tangible change into the future of art and culture. Visit CultureDays.ca and view our Participation Guide and FAQ to learn more about the festival and how to get involved.

Stay tuned for more announcements and planning inspiration around the theme. Event registration will open May 2021.
Please note: details about the types of events Culture Days is supporting will be communicated through the year. We remain committed to supporting organizers in adhering to COVID-19 public health guidelines and changing government restrictions. We encourage organizers to approach program planning with flexibility, and to consider producing online experiences. The national and provincial offices remain in place to assist you in your planning.

Mississauga Arts Council would like to invite you to participate in our exciting new pilot project, the Holiday Arts Boutique. This is an online shopping hub that will feature many of Mississauga's best artists, musicians, dancers, photographers, and more.

Our Boutique will attempt to attract a broad audience to a central location so they can discover new local artists from all genres. We can offer products (crafts, fashions, artworks, photography, Music CDs, DVDs, books etc) or services (music/dance lessons, artwork commissions, photography sessions) and MAC will not take any commission. We want to digitally support our members since COVID has restricted the usual in-person holiday markets.

If you are selling now and wish to learn more about this opportunity or to participate, please contact Susan Durnin admin@mississaugaartscouncil.com

If you are seeking to sell online and need some help navigating the opportunities contact coach Raheel Patel contact@holycow.studio.

Join FUSION'S MAKERS MARKET. Expand your audience and connect with clients now and into the future!

We know that this year has been tough on everybody. We were very disappointed to have to cancel the Clay and Glass Show this year on account of COVID-19. So that's why we decided to offer you a new way to promote your work through the FUSION Makers Market. We are creating an easy access platform to showcase FUSION members' work. Through this online gallery, we want YOU to be able to connect directly to people in order to SELL your work during this time when many shows are being cancelled or postponed.

FUSION will regularly feature work and artists from the MAKERS MARKET to increase your exposure and sales opportunities.

To join, you only need to submit 5 images, a short bio/artist statement and a contact link. Ideally having your own website for customers to visit is best to facilitate sales.

All sales and delivery of work will take place directly with the artist. FUSION will not take any commission. 100% of sales will go to you. Being apart of FUSION's Makers Market is a benefit of membership. Not a current member? No problem! You can just update your membership when you apply.

We're really excited to get the Makers Market up and going as soon as possible, so we need you to send us your submission now! Click the link below for details on how to apply.
