All provincial Covid protocols will be followed to ensure this is a socially distanced, safe activity. Masks will not be required, in line with the current guidelines, however this is subject to change. We are asking participants to bring a bagged lunch.

If you have previously attended 2 raku workshops and are interested in accreditation please indicate this on your registration. There will be a limited number of participants able to certify due to teaching constraints.
Included in each workshop:
- 1/2 bag of Raku Clay
- 1 hour Zoom Glaze Techniques Workshop
- Separate bisque firing of your pieces
- A variety of Raku glazes available in the studio for Studio and General Members
- Raku firing of 2-3 pieces per participant
Each participant will have 2-3 pieces fired during the workshop. Maximum size per piece 6”x6” base x 10” tall. Note: Raku fired pieces are non- functional. Small tuckers (small ceramic pieces) may be accommodated if there is space as well as additional pieces if space permits once all participants work has been fired.
Safety
Only wear natural fibres as we will be around fire. The workshop takes place outside so make sure you come dressed to spend the whole day outside.
Bring your own chair, food and drinks. May be chilly so a hot drink of tea, coffee or hot chocolate may be a good idea!
The Guild will be following all Public Health Covid guidelines and protocols in place at the time of the workshop. As this is a fluid situation we will ensure we follow the protocols for masks and social distancing required to conduct a safe workshop for everyone.
Dates to Keep in Mind:
Clay will be made available the 1st week of September.
September 29th
Pieces must be ready for bisque firing. A designated shelf will be labeled RAKU where pieces can be put before and after the bisque firing.
October 1-15th
Glaze will be available for studio members – Members will need to follow Covid Studio Use to book studio time to glaze their pieces.
Refund Policy:
Registration fees are final and non-refundable after clay is distributed. Participants may find a substitute. Alternatively. and not ideal, work will be fired in the absence of a member if work is bisque and glazed.
