Tools: registrants to bring normal pottery tools

Kiefer Floreal is a professional ceramic artist, educator, national presenter, and grant recipient based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Originally from Kenora, Ontario, he first discovered clay in high school and has spent years developing a distinctive studio practice through curiosity, experimentation, and thousands of hours at the wheel.

Today, Kiefer is recognized across Canada for his engaging demonstrations, generous teaching style, and ability to make complex ceramic techniques accessible to potters of every skill level. He has presented at Fusion and has also appeared on The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down.

His work is represented by the Gardiner Museum Shop in Toronto and Vessels & Sticks, and includes functional soda-fired pottery, sculptural forms, and gyotaku-inspired ceramics connected to Lake of the Woods, memory, landscape, and place.

At the heart of Kiefer's practice is a passion for sharing knowledge. He creates welcoming spaces where curiosity replaces perfection and experimentation leads to growth.

Observing registrants will have the opportunity to observe and listen to teachings, however will not have the opportunity to sit at a wheel or work with clay due to the number of wheels available.
