Celebrating Contributions
The Dorothy Collin Memorial Award celebrates a member of our Guild who has gone above and beyond normal contribution commitments and shown exceptional volunteer effort to sustain and grow the clay community within the guild.
Dorothy Collin was a founding member of the Mississauga Potters’ Guild. She was proud of the thriving creative community that grew from the humble beginnings of the gathering of a few clay enthusiasts in founding members’ homes.
Dorothy was a strong member of her community. She was an accomplished potter and connected with members new and old whenever she had the chance. She embraced new Guild activities, participating in sales, exhibitions, attending meetings in person and on Zoom and opening her home for members’ to use. Dorothy was the Guild’s biggest cheerleader. She is remembered for applauding the hard work of members as the backbone of the Guild. Dorothy Collin passed away in 2021 and is missed by many. The MPG honours her memory through this award.
